Gastronomy
Blida presents a wide variety of very appetizing traditional dishes and cakes, of different scents, colors and very original shapes. Some dishes characterize the Blida region: Batata Fliou (potato with pennyroyal mint), Hamama (couscous with herbs), Boubrayes (wild onion), Tbeykha krombe (cabbage stew).

The types of cakes that characterize Blida are practically those known in the region of the great Algerian center. There is Samsa (triangle of puff pastry filled with almonds), Ktayef (angels hair), khochkhach (ear flaps), Mhancha (puff pastry rolled up in a serpentine pattern)… nevertheless, certain specialties are typical of the Blida region, such as Makroute El Koucha (baked diamond) and Hniwnattes (yeast brioche crowns).
